Namesake: Named after Koan Sound’s debut album "Polychrome" (released December 2018), which features the style in its artwork and may have inspired the tagline & branding for Arturia’s software synthesizer Pigments ("Polychrome software synthesizer," also released in late 2018).

Ink in water, smoke, liquids, oils, paint explosions, blurring, melding colours. Usually a wide color palette.
