Pacific Punk Wave (1970s)

ca. Mid 1970s - Early 1980s

Graphic style that emerged from the punk, pacific wave, swiss new wave, and italian radical design movements of the 1970s and 80s. There's also some influence of the '1950s diner/googie/populuxe' aesthetic sometimes, epitomized by the popularity of 'Heaven', a novelty kitsch store in LA. These styles were very influential on the '80s look' as it's commonly known in the 2010s revival.
